With their huge appealing eyes whether lifting a huge urn or striding about in a toga, plus their donkeys, mules and horses and sheep and goats, there are plenty of press-out pals to add as you build your own 3D model of a Roman villa. Pull out the pages carefully tearing along the perforated lines and fold along the dotted lines forward or backward as instructed by the blue or green dots. Slot the characters into the bases so that they can stand upright around the villa. The first few pages of this softback instruct little ones ages 5-8 about life in Rome where politicians made speeches on the steps of the Temple of Jupiter to get support for new laws. Spot a statue of the goddess Victory, or a Roman wedding in a busy picture where you can see the Colosseum and huge aqueducts. Admire the mosaic following the Roman numeral colour key below and bathe like a Roman in the hot tub making sure your attendant is paid to watch your clothes as you take a leisurely swim in the warm tepidarium. Learn all about toilet paper, soap and other cosmetics, Roman food, practical jokers, follow a recipe for little Honey and Sesame Seed Biscuits, and a little about patricians, plebs and proles. And there are quizzes and maps, emperors and gladiators too. 16 page large softback, 28 x 21cm.
